Chef Susan,
I have heard if you want to reduce the size of a recipe from eight servings to four; you cannot simply cut the ingredients in half, is this true? If it is true then how can you caculate the amount of ingredients to use? I have a Pampered Chef French onion and mushroom soup recipe I want to make this week, and there are only three of us that will be eating it.
Thanks,

Russ -
Many recipes can be easily adjusted to feed more or less people simply by doubling or halving the quantities, and your onion soup recipe is one of them. Alternatively, you can always make the full batch and freeze some for later. The type of recipes that can’t readily be reduced are typically baked goods.
Thanks for the question- enjoy your soup!
